Now that we acknowledge that we are a spirit, we need to think about who is your spiritual father. Since we are born into sin, Satan is our spiritual father until we become born again and saved by Jesus Christ. God cannot be your spiritual father if you don’t believe Christ died for your sins and was resurrected from death. We are not born with Christ’s nature or God’s nature. 

That only comes from believing Jesus is Lord. The unbeliever’s nature is of this world not of God. Our thoughts and feelings come from the ruler of this world, Satan. Not from God if you don’t believe in Jesus. It is natural not to think of Jesus or God if all is working out. But when things go wrong, it’s natural to think of God. 

So the point is you need to know that if you haven’t accepted Christ as Lord of your life, Satan is your spiritual father. Only through Christ can God be your spiritual father. And as you have heard all your life God is in heaven and satan’s ultimate goal is to take your soul to hell.
